PTA EVENTS/ACTIVITIES
Here are some of the exciting programs we sponsor:
ASSEMBLIES- Throughout the year, the PTA provides a variety of fun, educational assemblies and programs for our students. Assemblies are chosen with input from the building principals, guidance department and teachers. The assemblies help to reinforce what the students are learning in the classroom in a fun and entertaining way.
CHATTER NEWSLETTER- We send out monthly newsletter home with all students. It is filled with important information about the PTA, the schools and upcoming events and opportunities for you to become involved.
CLOTHING FOR EMERGENCIES- Each year the PTA purchases sweatpants, socks and underwear for each of our school nurses to be used in case of emergencies throughout the year.

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN NIGHTS- Throughout the year, the PTA will sponsor a fun family nights for you to enjoy with your children. These will include themed-craft nights, movies and game nights.
FUNDRAISER – Our annual fundraiser begins at the start of the school year and runs thru September. All money and orders are due by the end of the month.
Distribution of your order takes place in mid-November. On-line orders can be shipped directly to your house at no charge and are available all year long. This is our main fundraiser for the year and we appreciate your support. It is a family sale. Please do not let your children sell door-to-door.
GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION/CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS FOR EDUCATION- We will continue to collect BoxTops to support our PTA programs. Simply save BoxTop coupons from General Mills products bearing the “BoxTops for Education” logo. This year we will also be collecting Campbell's Labels for Education UPCs as well. Collection boxes are in each school office.
GIFT OF WARMTH- During November, the PTA collects new gloves, scarves and mittens to be given to those in need.
HOLIDAY SHOP- We hold a Holiday shop in early December where students can purchase and or make inexpensive gifts for their family and friends. Gifts typically cost between $.25 and $8.00. Free gift wrapping is available.
DISCOUNT COUPON CARDS- This fundraiser will begin in
December. The coupon cards offer discounts to area stores,
restaurants and attractions. They are a great way for you to
support the PTA while you shop and save money!
MAD SCIENCE- We offer and coordinate the Mad Science program for students in grades K-4. Children experience fun and exciting experiments and projects that help to introduce and reinforce science concepts.
MEETINGS- Meetings are held monthly for our executive board and committee chairs, but ALL are welcome to attend. We appreciate your participation and input. General membership meetings are held 3 times a year. All members are encouraged to attend.
PTA AWARDS – Each year the PTA honors members of our district staff for their support and volunteer efforts throughout the year. This is awarded at the district’s Evening of Celebration.
REFLECTIONS- This year, the Stafford PTA will participate in the National and State PTA Reflections program. This program honors student’s creative achievement in visual and performing arts, as well as in literature and photography. This program is open to any student in grades K-6.
ROOM PARENT COORDINATORS - Room parent teams arrange holiday parties and activities in cooperation with the teachers. The room parent coordinator and their team are expected to involve all the classroom parents in some way during the years’ activities. In addition to being members of the PTA, the room parents are asked to assist the PTA in their fundraising efforts.
SAFETY POSTER CONTEST- Each year the children of our district are invited to participate in the State PTA Safety poster contest. Many of our students have been recipients of the county and state awards.
SECOND GRADE PARENT/CHILD ACTIVITY- The PTA sponsors an activity for our second grade students and one parent or guardian.
SCHOLARSHIPS- Our PTA yearly awards $1000. Scholarships to 4 graduating Seniors of Southern Regional High School, based on and academic and community achievement. Only students whose parents were actively involved in the Stafford Township PTA are eligible for this scholarship.
SIXTH GRADE ACTIVITES- The PTA sponsors parent chaperoned dances for the 6th grade students throughout the year. The PTA also supports the 6th grade trip and provides caps and gown photos for the graduates.
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES - Each year we offer a variety of opportunities for social events for our membership and the community. These include our yearly Boo-Hoo-Yahoo! Tea and our Fall Frolic.
SPIRITWEAR- As a service to the district, the PTA offers t-shirts, shorts and sweat shirts with the school logo for purchase. This is not a PTA fundraiser.
STAFF APPRECIATION- During Staff Appreciation month, the PTA shows our appreciation to the educators and staff who do their best to make a difference in our children’s lives on a daily basis.
THUNDERING SURF WATER PARK- We coordinate sales for Thundering Surf Waterpark tickets for families to enjoy each summer.
VOLUNTEERS- All of the events that the PTA sponsors involve a lot of planning and work to be successful. We hope you will choose to be an active part of your child’s school experience, by volunteering your time and energy to help make allof these programs successful and memorable.
6TH GRADE YEARBOOK- The PTA underwrites, coordinates, and distributes the
yearbook for the 6th grade students each year.
NEW IDEAS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME - The PTA is growing to meet the needs of our district. We are always looking for new ideas and volunteers to help us to accomplish this goal.
